Good Afternoon,
I hope and trust this e-mail finds you well, in good health and spirits at this time.
First, I wish to thank all of you for your kind words about my e-mails. I am sure you are being bombarded with e-mail updates from elected officials, law firms, medical offices, and every business and company under the sun that has your e-mail address. It is rewarding to know that many of you have found my e-mails informative and helpful and I appreciate you telling me so. I will work to ensure that you remain updated about the contents of Governor Cuomo’s Executive Orders. And again, if you don’t want to be bothered any more, just let me know and I will remove you from the list.
Second, while there have not been any new executive orders from Governor Cuomo over the past couple of days, I wanted to use this e-mail to alert you about an important service now available in New York. Undoubtedly, people are dealing with very stressful situations and trying to cope with the anxiety caused by the COVID-19 events. I am confident you personally know someone who is facing a mental health challenge. To confront these challenges, Governor Cuomo called upon mental health professionals to sign up to provide mental health services. Over 6,000 mental health professionals originally heeded the call and volunteered to provide mental health services for people who need it. This morning, Governor Cuomo announced that the number has grown to over 8,100 such professionals, including individuals from out-of-state. As Governor Cuomo correctly observed, this is truly inspiring.
To that end, New York State has established the COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline at 1-844-863-9314 to offer free support, consultation and referrals to those dealing with coronavirus-related stress or anxiety. This is a valuable resource available to New Yorkers at this moment in time. Something to keep in mind and information to pass along when you see or hear someone in need. And while some of you receiving my e-mails may not live in New York, I am sure you know folks who do, so feel free to send this e-mail to them if you think they need the information.
Continue to stay safe and healthy. Long Point Advisors is here to assist you should the need arise.
